Dr Danie Botha
CLINICAL DIRECTOR
Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine | MBChB, MMed O & G (UP), FCOG (SA), Certification in Repr. Med.
Dr Botha is the Clinical Director at FEMBRYO and is a Gynaecologist and registered subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Endoscopic Surgery.
He practised as a General Practitioner in Okahandja, Namibia before completing his postgraduate studies at the University of Pretoria , obtaining his MMed (cum laude) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a Fellow of the College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist.
He is an honorary consultant at the University of Stellenbosch and is a past president of the SASREG (Southern African Society of Reproductive Medicine and Gynaecological Endoscopy) Board. His field of interest includes endometriosis and its impact on fertility, recurrent pregnancy loss and endoscopic gynaecological surgery.
The first total laparoscopic hysterectomy in the Eastern Cape was performed by Dr Botha and his surgical team at St Georges Hospital in 2007. The first advanced surgery for rectovaginal endometriosis followed soon. Supported with the expertise of his colleague and friend Dr Emile Coetzee, colo-rectal surgeon, they have operated on and improved the lives of many women together as a team, supported by urologists, physiotherapists and gastro-enterologists.
Dr Botha is happily married to Frannette, who is as passionate about Fembryo as he is, bringing joy and calmness with her into the lives of the staff and patients. They are blessed with two beautiful children, spoiled by a daughter and son in law, as well as a loving grandson.
Outside of Medicine, Dr Botha is a nature enthusiast, enjoying whichever time he has in the beauty of the Eastern Cape with his family, camping, enjoying the splendid waves of Port Elizabeth or traversing the Baviaans and mountain areas of Patensie with friends, or just hiking alone. His energy, motivation and dreams come from a passion to serve Christ in his profession, combating the devastation of disease and to improve the wellness of his patients.
Dr Wendy Sieg
GENERAL PRACTITIONER
Bsc Hon, HDE, MBChB
Born and raised in Gqeberha, she has been at FEMBRYO for the past 10 years and loves being able to work with women through the various phases of womanhood. She is enthusiastic about the personal relationship she can develop with her patients and recognises that the fertility journey gives a doctor a very intimate window into a woman’s life.
She herself was pregnant at an older age and recognises the privilege and blessing of parenthood. She is married and has a son and a daughter. She loves spending time with her family, camping or in the outdoors.
Dr Debbie Prince
Gynaecologist
MBChB, MMed O et G (Stell), FCOQ (SA), Dip Obst (SA), MBHARE (UV)
Dr Debbie Prince is a Gynaecologist with a special interest in Reproductive Medicine who completed her studies at both the University of Cape Town and Stellenbosch University. She developed her love for obstetrics and gynaecology in 2010 and has subsequently obtained a Diploma in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, a Masters degree in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and is a Certified Gynaecologist with the College of Medicine South Africa and the HPCSA.
During her specialist studies, Debbie realised that she was passionate about couples struggling with fertility issues. Combined with her own infertility journey she wanted to dedicate her further work and studies to this field. Dr Prince completed a Masters degree in Reproductive Biotechnology through the University of Valencia with a Masters thesis in Slow Intrauterine Insemination.
Dr Prince is equally passionate about minimally invasive surgery and has completed a Bachelor in Endoscopy with the European Academy of gynaecological surgery. She has done research and presented papers locally on laparoscopy and has trained under the expertise of Dr Danie Botha. She is committed to striving for excellence in both surgical and medical care.
Personally, Debbie is married with two young boys who keep her happily busy. She has two beautiful dogs and enjoys traveling, reading and photography. Her struggle with falling pregnant has made her appreciate the journey on which her patients find themselves. She is passionate about caring for women and ensuring their comfort at a particularly vulnerable and stressful time.
Lynette Dean
COUNSELING PSYCHOLOGIST
Lynette Dean is a Counselling Psychologist in Port Elizabeth. She obtained her BA Degree through UNISA before going on to NMMU (Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University), formerly UPE, to do her Honours and Masters Degrees. She obtained both her Honours and Masters’s Degrees, Cum Laude.
She became a psychologist in 2001 after experiencing her own infertility struggle for 7 years. She understands the depth of the challenges brought on by infertility struggles since she has been through this herself.
Lynette is currently a psychologist in private practice but is affiliated with the Fembryo Clinic. She specialises in women’s mental health, which includes infertility counseling, postpartum depression, surrogacy and egg donation counseling, and infant loss.

Frannette Botha
Financial Manager
Frannette is Fembryo’s Financial Manager. She has been a part of the team from its inception in 2002 and has witnessed its growth.
Her dedication to people and professionalism make her a vital member of the team.
She is hardworking and her door is always open to listen, advise and support the Fembryo team.
She is diplomatic and an effective mediator in difficult situations. Her calming and warm presence helps to create a unified team.
Monique Breytenbach
Administration Manager/
Accounts Administrator
Monique followed in her mother’s footsteps into the medical administrative field. After experiencing medical practice admin in a temporary role, she discovered a passion to make a difference and helping patients who feel uncertain and setting them at ease. She’s been part of our team since March 2009. Monique is responsible for working with our fertility patients and explaining the often difficult financial aspects of the journey. She is a hardworking problem-solver and always willing to help. Monique will be the person who answers your enquiries by email.
Thabang Kwali
Building Manager & Security
We got to know Thabang as part of the security team at St. George’s Hospital. He made a big impression with his helpful attitude and big smile.
When Fembryo moved to the new premises, Thabang became part of the team in 2018 as security and building manager he ensures that things run smoothly on a daily basis.
His presence will ensure your safety and peace of mind during your visit.
Wilhelm Schoeman
Laboratory Director / Embryologist
Wilhelm has been involved with Assisted Reproductive Technolgy and part of Fembryo and our history since 2003 .
He is a hardworking and diligent embryologist brings experience quality and knowledge . His excellent work ethic reflects in Fembryo’s results. It is not strange to find Wilhelm at work at 6am including weekends.
He took his role over from his dad, Jaco Schoeman, who started this clinic with Dr Dalmeyer many years ago.
Sr Uméh de Beer
Patient Coordinator
Uméh completed her B.cur degree at the University of North West (Potchefstroom campus) in 2017.
She enjoys working in fertility. She gained experience in the field before learning that she also had to undergo IVF herself. Unfortunately, the first attempt was unsuccessful, after which she opted to bank embryos for future use. She believes that the knowledge and skills that she developed from working in fertility, helped her to better cope with her own IVF adventure, and that in turn, helps her to better connect with her patients.
Sr Elzet Bezuidenhout

Elzet completed her BSoc.Sc (Nursing) degree at the University of Free State.
She worked as a clinic sister and also as a midwife in the maternity ward.
As she also walked the fertility treatment road, she understands the emotional and physical challenges involved with fertility treatment.
Elzet is a compassionate caring sister who puts her patient’s needs first. She is the sister in charge of the results feedback and a patient coordinator.
Sr. Zuko Linda

Born and raised in the Western Cape, Zuko studied nursing at Bayview Hospital in Mossel Bay.
She completed her nursing training Cum Laude at Life College of Learning in 2017. She started working with Dr Botha and Dr Prince at Life St Georges Hospital in theatre on endoscopic procedures. She joined the Fembryo on 1 July 2022 as a fertility patient coordinator and theatre sister.
Her compassion for patients is obvious and everything about her speaks of integrity and excellence. Her brilliant smile will help you to feel welcome and at ease.
Sr. Ruth Wren
Theatre Sister
Born and raised in the Eastern Cape, Ruth completed her training at Midlands Hospital in Graaff-Reinet. After moving to Port Elizabeth, she worked at Sanford Maternity Hospital and later moved to PE Day Hospital.
She is the head of the day theatre and ensures quality patient care and safety.
She started working with patients who experienced difficulty in conceiving. She has been part of the Fembryo team for many years. She loves what she does, and is passionate about being part of each patient’s journey. Under Ruth’s care, you will be well cared for after theatre procedures at Fembryo.
Bianca Hurndal
Embryologist
Bianca completed her first degree in Human Movement Science at the University of the Freestate. She worked at a medical research facility in Bloemfontein, where her passion for patients and science grew. She then furthered her studies in clinical technology at the central University of Technology in Bloemfontein, specialising in embryology and completed her internship at Fembryo during 2021 and 2022. Bianca is enthusiastic and dedicated, working together with Wilhelm to ensure only the best care is offered.
Ada-Melia von Schaeffer
Accounts Administrator
Ada started at Fembryo in January 2021. She has been in the medical administration field since 2006. Ada enjoys learning new things and she believes working in a team means it starts with YOU being the best example thereof. Her dedication and work ethic makes her an asset to Fembryo Clinic.
Pam De Beer
Theatre Coordinator
Understanding that undergoing a surgical procedure can be stressful for patients, she guides them through the process with empathy and care to make the experience as comfortable as possible. She’s an absolute animal lover and has a passion for dancing, especially tap dancing, as well as an artistic eye for home decor.
